I have owned an Atlas pasta machine for at least 40 years. It never failed to perform perfectly until I decided to run it through a cycle in the dishwasher. Now the rollers no longer work; well, one does and one doesn't. I just received a letter from Atlas Marcato stating that it isn't repairable. At my age I won't buy a new one. I can roll dough by hand, then use the dough cutters that I have; those still work just fine. For the younger generation, I can't recommend any other product that will faithfully perform as well as the manual pasta machine. So many good meals have come from my simple helper that I really grieve its demise and can't bring myself to buy a new one. I have lost an old friend who cannot be replaced in my heart. They call this machine original, but Elena Marcato says
"I' m sorry to say that your pasta machine needs to be entirely replaced, there' s no way you can get it repaired. The new models are a lot different both in materials and components." I do hope that the new models are as long-lasting as mine, and that buyers won't make the mistake of putting it in the dishwasher. Brushing it out after use does work, and that's all I should have done.

The Atlas pasta machine is the most famous pasta machine in the world. With this machine you'll be able to make fettuccine, spaghetti, flat dough sheet, and tagliolini. It has an easy to use adjustment knob that allows you to control the thickness of pasta - from 0.3mm to 2.5mm. This heavy duty machine has a chrome plated steel body. The rollers and cutters are made of long lasting anodized aluminum. The anodized aluminum is a wellness innovation; rollers and cutters grab the dough better and because they are free from heavy metals, such as chromium and nickel, you get healthier results. Gears are case-hardened tempered steel. Includes clamp for securing to counter, instruction book and recipes.
